"Meeting Opportunity"
When we went to the kennel after Tigger had passed, There were many dogs there; all of them were so nice. There were a couple others that we really liked, but we just had a feeling about Opportunity. When he was let out of his cage, he came right over and stood there as calm as can be. We asked if we could walk him, and as soon as he saw the leash, he went nuts. He was sooooo excited to be going out. He was quite excited when he was out for a walk, however I made him heel, so he wasn't difficult to control.
Helping me seed the lawn:
We only had Oppy a day, when he, Irene and I were in my back yard. I was putting down some grass seed on the bare patches. I had just finished covering a patch with top soil, and was reaching for the bag of seed, when Oppy took it and ran all over the yard with it (as the seed spewed out of the bag). I guess he was helping me seed....
Oppy Likes Beer
I was down to the bottom of a bottle of beer. There was less than an inch left in the bottle, so I gave it to Oppy. I poured it into a bowl for him, and he lapped it right down. When he was done, he began barking at me as if to say, "more please!"
Sleeping in the hole
We have a twin size mattress on the floor of our bedroom next to our bed. The dogs always seemed to love it,m however Oppy prefers to sleep in the space between teh mattress and the wall. We say he is sleeping in his hole.
Missing Irene
When Irene used to have seizures, Oppy would bark at her. I don't know if it was him trying to help in some way, or him just being unsure about what is going on. On the day that Irene passed away, Oppy was barking his head off when we came home. After she passed away (about 20 minutes later), he seemed depressed. He would still go for walks, but his eatting slowed.
